HSE Policy

Health, Safety & Enviroment

At MEDAAD, our top priority is the health and safety of our employees and all individuals affected by our business activities. We are also committed to protecting the environment through effective environmental management practices.

Leadership and Accountability

All levels of management at MEDAAD are responsible for providing leadership, visible commitment, direction, and resources to ensure we achieve our HSE performance targets. We recognize that our employees, contractors, and others engaged by MEDAAD are our greatest asset, and their health and safety is a shared responsibility.

HSE Performance Goals

As part of our HSE policy, we have identified the following HSE performance goals:

  1. No harm to people
  2. No damage to the environment
  3. Effective control of all identifiable potential hazards

Compliance and Best Practices

Compliance with applicable governmental HSE regulations is considered the minimum acceptable standard of HSE performance. We strive to exceed industry best practices by implementing robust HSE management systems, and continually reviewing and improving our processes and procedures.

Safety Culture

At MEDAAD, we encourage a 24/7 safety outlook that promotes a culture of safety at all times. Our employees, sub-contractors, and agency staff are encouraged to think about safety at work, at home, and in their personal lives. We believe that this approach helps to create a safer and healthier workplace for everyone.

Supervisor Responsibility

Our supervisors are responsible for ensuring that our workers are competent and capable of working safely. They also ensure that our HSE policies and procedures are enforced fairly and consistently. In addition, supervisors play a vital role in maintaining a safe work environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards, and promoting safe work practices.

Shared Responsibility

All employees, contractors, and others engaged by MEDAAD share the responsibility of working safely to protect themselves, their colleagues, the public, and the environment. We recognize that effective communication and training are key to promoting a culture of safety. As such, we provide regular HSE training to our employees, and field staff complete comprehensive training specific to their work before entering the field.

Continuous Improvement

Our constant HSE goal is to achieve no harm to people, no damage to the environment, and effective control of all potential hazards. We achieve this by:

  • Conducting regular HSE risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Encouraging reporting of incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Conducting thorough investigations into all incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence
  • Implementing corrective actions to address identified issues
  • Encouraging feedback from our employees and other stakeholders to continually improve our HSE performance

Expectation of Support

Active support of this policy is a condition of employment and an expectation of all business partners. We believe that everyone has a right to a safe and healthy workplace, and we are committed to making this a reality for all. At MEDAAD, we are proud of our HSE performance, and we are constantly striving to improve.
